Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott expressed his enthusiasm for playing to their home crowd and fans in Europe, promising a new show with surprises alongside the classics. Guitarist Phil Collen added that it's a dream to return to the UK and Europe with their good friends, Extreme, predicting an incredible night for the fans.

These shows mark Def Leppard's first UK tour dates since their co-headline tour with Mötley Crüe in 2023.

The band is also scheduled to play a festival slot at Wacken Open Air in Germany at the end of July 2026. Prior to the UK and European tour, Def Leppard will be undertaking a month-long Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in February 2026.

Def Leppard are a highly successful and influential English rock band known for their polished hard rock sound, melodic hooks, and arena-ready anthems. Hailing from Sheffield, they rose to global fame in the 1980s, becoming one of the world's best-selling music artists. Their story is one of enduring success in the face of immense adversity.

Signature sound and musical style

Def Leppard's signature sound is a fusion of hard rock, heavy metal, and pop elements.

Key characteristics of their music include:

Melodic hooks: Catchy, memorable choruses and melodies designed for large audiences.

Layered vocals: Extensive, multi-tracked background vocals that create a distinctive, lush sound.

Powerful riffs and guitar harmonies: A twin-guitar attack, particularly between Phil Collen and the late Steve Clark, that blended heavy riffs with soaring harmonies.

Widescreen production: A pristine, meticulously produced sound often credited to their work with producer Robert "Mutt" Lange.

Key albums and career milestones

Pyromania (1983): This album, featuring hits like "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages," was a massive success in the US, helping to define the pop-metal movement. It has since been certified Diamond for selling over 10 million copies in the US.

Hysteria (1987): The band's most commercially successful album, Hysteria, topped the charts in both the UK and US. With singles such as "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Animal," and "Love Bites," it has sold over 25 million copies worldwide and is one of only two of their original studio albums to receive Diamond certification in the US.

Despite personal tragedies and shifting music trends, the band continued to produce hit singles into the 1990s and has remained a popular touring act. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019
